The overall objective of the project is to develop and increase research and innovation capacities, as well as the adoption of advanced technologies in the field of textiles and the fashion industry, within the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” in Iasi. SMART-Tex-IS Center will operationalize a modern R&D infrastructure, able to meet all the requirements of companies and institutional beneficiaries. This infrastructure will enable complex activities such as: • Study, design, prototyping and physico-mechanical and physico-chemical characterisation of ‘smart’ textile and leather structures and products; • Functional testing of advanced materials and products; • Implementation and evaluation of (bio)framework technologies and technical management systems; • Determine and improve the technical and technological sustainability of production systems.
