The main objective of the project is to develop capacities to provide public medical services for patients of the Institute of Oncology ‘Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuta’ (IOCN), by modernising, extending and equipping the existing medical infrastructure, within 38 months of signing the financing contract. The Institute is an essential pillar of oncology treatment in Romania, serving an extended region. This project addresses two major challenges: 1. Undersize existing infrastructure: Current medical facilities and equipment are insufficient to cope with the increasing number of patients. 2. Moral and physical wear and tear: Today's buildings and facilities no longer meet modern standards of quality and safety. The overall objective of the project supports the transformation of the IOCN into a centre of excellence in public health, providing equitable access and advanced medical services to patients in the Northwest region and across the country.
