Ground for Wellbeing (GfW) proposes an inventive soil & water sensitive urban design (SWSUD) approach, redefining conventional urban planning. The project treats soil life and groundwater as critical urban infrastructures and introduces a 4D design, considering the unfolding of social and ecological measures over time. Additionally, the project incorporates extensive co-creation and civic participation to ensure a holistic, community-driven implementation, making it a pioneering initiative in redefining urban planning with a focus on the subsurface and social dimensions. The project ensures citizens' involvement through co-creation workshops and Civic Design, allowing residents to contribute to the redesign of public spaces. Tangible short-term improvements and social measures are implemented based on community input, fostering trust and support for climate adaptation. The project also experiments with innovative tools like rhythm analysis and the Zoöp model, engaging residents in decision-making for ecological regeneration.
