Within the framework of the implementation of the project, restoration of the Freedom Square and the roads and sidewalks adjacent thereto will be carried out, construction of stairs and a support wall, installation of a children's playground and a green zone, installation of small architectural forms and elements of improvement will be carried out. The new concept of the square is based on a compositional contrast between the historical charm of a small town and the modern, gradually formed, diverse urban environment. The construction project envisages two main areas in the square: Freedom Square and Freedom Square. The two main zones are separated by an imaginary central axis, it is designed as a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists, to which several functional zones of Freedom Square and Freedom Square adjoin. The entire territory of the square will be accessible to the environment, as well as materials selected in such a way that it is possible to move safely and comfortably for everyone. Within the framework of the reconstruction project, it is planned to respect the historical, architectural and artistic qualities that have been preserved in Freedom Square and its surroundings. The new concept of the square is based on a compositional contrast between the historical charm of the small town and the modern possibilities of the precise layout. The area will be cleaned of morally outdated layers and new values will be introduced with the modern layer, highlighting the existing diverse, gradually formed urban environment. The total eligible costs of the project are planned to be EUR 1 644 337.62, of which the European Union Cohesion Fund financing is EUR 800 000.00 and the municipal budget co-financing is EUR 844 337.62. The project is planned to be implemented from November 2024 to November 2026.
