The project "Improvement of the territory of Bauska Pilskalns Park" will carry out improvement of the Bauska Pilskalns Park with an area of 6.7 ha, providing for the restoration of pedestrian paths and the central pedestrian path, providing access to operational and management transport. It is planned to build a new power supply and carry out the dismantling of the existing supply line, to improve the recreation area with viewing areas, to build energy-efficient lighting and video surveillance of the territory, power connection points and public toilets, to carry out the care of valuable trees, to cut out sick, unscenic trees, as well as to plant new trees and install decorative greenery, to view Bauska Castle when entering the park territory, to uncover, drain rainwater and install functionally usable drinking water free taps. Solutions in the public outdoor space will improve the functionality of the territory, because there will be an opportunity to develop various services (health promotion, recreation, active recreation, cognition, etc.), to take climate change adaptation measures and reduce the risks of public safety by organizing the object, providing lighting and video surveillance, which, in turn, will also contribute to the reduction of crime. The target group of the project is residents of the town of Bauska and the surrounding area, as well as visitors of the events. The improvement of the park will improve the accessibility of recreation and cultural events for a wide audience - families with children, seniors, young people, supporters of various cultural activities. Investments in public outdoors will not only improve the quality of the living environment and increase public safety, but will also indirectly contribute to the development of services offered by existing businesses in the restored public outdoors or to the start-up of the economic activity of new service providers. Thus, the development of public outdoor space will create a multiplier effect for the development of entrepreneurship.
