"Development of public outdoor space in Smiltene - active recreation park of Smiltene city"

The aim of the project "Development of public outdoor space in Smiltene - Smiltene city active recreation park" is to develop public outdoor space in the functional area of Smiltene city, improving the quality of the living environment and increasing public safety and health. Under the project, it is planned to create a sustainable active infrastructure object – the ‘Pump track’ – instead of the Smiltene skate park, which is in poor condition, and to re-plan and improve the Smiltene children’s playground in the project area, making it a modern and multifunctional playground. As a result of the implementation of the project, the public outdoor space in the functional territory of Smiltene city will be developed, identifying the primary important place - the Smiltene children's playground and skate park, where investments can bring the greatest return, increase public safety, recreational opportunities in the outdoor space and improve the quality of the living environment of Smiltene municipality families in the public urban environment. The following activities will be carried out within the framework of the project: dismantling works; construction of the asphalt track (Pump track); creation of paths and squares, including the construction of a slide area; installation of amenities - leisure benches, bicycle parking, etc.; greening; installation of play equipment in small (1-8 years) and large (6-14 years) squares; improvement of external power grids, lighting, video surveillance and engineering networks and installation of a water free tap. The project includes author supervision and construction supervision costs. The total eligible costs of the project are EUR 735 249.96, of which EUR 485 044.40 is ERDF funding and EUR 250 205.56 is co-financing from Smiltene municipality.
