The aim of the project is to provide urgent, individually tailored support measures for beneficiaries of international protection in the territory of Latvia, including asylum seekers, refugees and persons with alternative status. The project will promote the integration of this target group and contribute to the cohesion of society through the professional services of a social worker and a social mentor. The project will involve 5 social workers, 10 social mentors who, according to their qualifications and under the supervision of the senior project social worker (cooperation coordinator), will work with the target group, providing qualitative information and practical support. The social worker and mentor service will be provided to beneficiaries of international protection for up to 12 months or until the fulfilment of the individual socio-economic inclusion plan of the person, for a maximum of 24 months. As a result of the project, 1 140 asylum seekers and socio-economic inclusion of beneficiaries of international protection will be promoted. At the same time, the Society Integration Foundation will accumulate the necessary data for the evaluation of the socio-economic inclusion plan. The project also foresees actions contributing to the horizontal principle of equality, inclusion, non-discrimination and respect for fundamental rights. In order to achieve more inclusive, effective and comprehensive services in Latvia that meet the needs of beneficiaries of international protection, it is necessary to promote long-term integration, a sense of belonging and participation in social, economic and cultural life in Latvian society. The social support service is planned in synergy with the activities implemented by the SIF One-Stop-Shop, ensuring the exclusion of double funding. Cooperation partners will be involved in the implementation of the activities planned in the project: The State Agency for the Provision of the Ministry of the Interior and the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, providing premises for free use, their equipment, as well as maintenance of premises, for the implementation of the service of a social worker in accommodation centres for asylum seekers. The total eligible funding planned under the project is no more than EUR 2 198 208, including European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) funding in the form of a grant of no more than EUR 1 868 476 and State budget co-financing of EUR 329 732.
