The aim of the project is to develop public outdoor space in functional urban areas, improving the quality of the living environment and increasing public safety. The development of Pirtupīte public outdoor space in Cēsis until 2026, using materials that fit into the environment, using nature-based solutions, anticipating solutions for the preservation of biodiversity, integrating them into environmental improvement. The aim of the project will be achieved by applying the principles of universal design, installing a network of pedestrian paths with lighting and improvement elements (benches), selecting waterproof coverings for paths, and cleaning the pond of Cēsis Castle, thus improving the quality of life of local residents and city guests, opportunities to relax, visual appeal of the surrounding area and increasing public safety, etc., as well as indirectly promoting business development in adjacent areas. Development of public outdoor space using an integrated approach to align interests The project is planned to be implemented in 2024 and 2025. The total planned cost of the project is EUR 742 540.25. ERDF financing is EUR 485 603.00. The municipal co-financing for the costs included in the project is EUR 256 937.25. Publicity and information dissemination measures will be provided in accordance with Article 50 of the Common Provisions Regulation, the regulatory act laying down the procedure by which institutions involved in the management of European Union funds ensure the implementation of these funds in 2021. for the programming period 2027 and for the European Union Funds 2021. – as set out in the Communication and Design Guidelines for the programming period 2027 and the Recovery Fund. The project activities for the construction of the Pirtupīte ravine road network with lighting are planned to be implemented by 31 December 2025. The requirements of Cabinet Regulation No 353 ‘Requirements for green public procurement and procedures for their application’ (defined in the technical specifications for the procurement of works) and the SRPP requirement for the selection of the contractor (social inclusion for target groups) will be applied in the procurement of works. Achievable result: Well-maintained Pirtupīte ravine in the town of Cēsis with an area of at least 19 368 m2.
