The aim of the project is to develop the infrastructure of the Emergency Medical Service (hereinafter ‘the Service’) by constructing three fully equipped and well-equipped Brigade Support Centres (hereinafter ‘BACs’) in Cesis, Liepaja, Ogre, including for the provision of BAC tasks by purchasing the necessary emergency medical vehicles (hereinafter ‘OCTs’) and medical equipment. The achievement of the objective of the project is aimed at ensuring the essential function of the Service - the provision of timely and high-quality pre-hospital stage emergency medical assistance (hereinafter – NMP) to the population. Achievement of the objective of the project will help the Service to achieve an important strategic goal: to equalise the number of brigades under the supervision of the Service in each of the BACs by providing for their geographical location closer to the recipients of pre-hospital stage NMP services in the regions, to significantly improve the supply and management functions of brigades, as well as to provide employees with working conditions that meet epidemiological requirements. By improving the organizational processes of service provision, citizens will be ensured equal access to health care and the health care system in general will be strengthened.
