The objective of the project ‘Reconstruction of the hotel building into a social house, Bērzu iela 4, Ziriņi, Saldus Municipality’ is to ensure access to housing that meets dignified living conditions for socially and economically vulnerable persons in Saldus Municipality by reconstructing the hotel building into a residential house, thereby facilitating access to social housing in Saldus Municipality and reducing the municipal queue for renting out such housing.
In order to reduce the queue for receiving the assistance provided for in Article 3(1) and (2) of the Law on assistance in solving housing issues, the project will reconstruct a building owned by Saldus Municipality at Bērzu iela 4, Zirņu civil parish, creating 32 well-equipped social apartments, of which 3 apartments will be adapted for persons with reduced mobility.
The apartments for rent will have full interior decoration, combined bathroom/toilet rooms and kitchens will be equipped with plumbing.Reconstruction works include the following main measures:1) Insulation of facade, plinth, roof, window and door openings; renovation of roofing;2) Replacement of windows and exterior doors to PVC glazed structures;3) General construction work for indoors;4) Environmental accessibility solutions for indoors and outdoors, and adaptations for persons with special needs, incl. - labelling, contrasting painting, tactile paving lanes, call system in bathrooms of specially adapted apartments, etc.;5) Reconstruction of internal engineering networks;6) Installation of solar panels for the production of electricity for self-consumption in the amount of 100% with a total capacity of up to 11 kW;7) Installation of heating with an air/water heat pump;8) Reconstruction, renovation and connection of utility lines to centralised networks;9) Dismantling of internal gas pipelines up to the inlets;10) Landscape improvement;11) Purchase and installation of equipment and installations to ensure the functionality of kitchen and sanitary facilities.
