The aim of the project "Establishment of new social housing in Jelgava" is to ensure access to housing suitable for dignified living conditions for socially and economically vulnerable persons living in Jelgava state city and to reduce the queues in the municipality for renting such housing. The project planned activity "Renovation or reconstruction of locally owned and unrented buildings" includes building at 9 Oskara Kalpaka Street, Jelgava, development of the construction project, reconstruction of the building, project management and implementation and provision of project publicity measures. Within the framework of the project, the municipality will re-establish 19 social apartments owned by the municipality and transfer them for rent to the persons of the target group. Of the 19 newly created apartments, 4 apartments will be created with 2 rooms, of which 2 apartments will be adapted for people with disabilities and various mobility disorders, and 15 apartments will be created with 1 living room, of which 3 apartments will be adapted for people with disabilities and various mobility disorders. The total planned cost of the project is EUR 1 140 000.00, of which: European Regional Development Fund financing: EUR 969 000.00 and local authority co-financing: EUR 171 000.00. Project implementation period - from the 3rd quarter of 2024 to the 4th quarter of 2029.
