The project "Renovation of social housing (apartments) in Southern Kurzeme Region" is intended to ensure access to housing suitable for dignified living conditions for socially and economically vulnerable aprons and to reduce the queues in the municipality for renting out such housing by renovating 15 apartments in the multi-apartment residential building owned by the municipality in Grobiņa on the entire 5th floor. The apartments are designed to provide full interior decoration and plumbing in bathrooms and kitchens. As a result of the renewal: 15 apartments will be renovated that meet all the standards and requirements of modern residence; socially vulnerable people will be offered accessible and dignified accommodation that meets their needs and resources; the project will contribute to the well-being and social integration of society by providing people with limited resources with the opportunity to live in acceptable and stable conditions. The renovated building will serve as an example of good practice for other municipalities and organisations striving to address housing shortages and provide accessible housing for socially vulnerable people. Overall, the project will make a significant contribution to housing and promote social cohesion and inclusion in the region of Southern Kurzeme. The total budget of the project is EUR 372 627. The budget for eligible costs is EUR 349 421.78, including: 63,86% or EUR 223 125 is ERDF funding and 36,14% or EUR 126 296.78 is municipal funding. In addition, EUR 23 205.11 is municipal funding for ineligible costs. Project implementation time: 2024-2028.
