The aim of the project is to renovate dwellings owned by Smiltene municipality in order to ensure dignified living conditions, according to the availability of housing for socially and economically vulnerable persons, and as a result of the project the queue for renting such dwellings in the municipality will be reduced. The main activity of the project is to renovate 17 dwellings which are in bad or even very bad condition. Within the framework of the project, various renovation works are planned, which include the elimination of structural damage (replacement of damaged doors, replacement of windows), cosmetic repairs, creation of appropriate shower and toilet facilities, modernisation of the heating system, improvement of outdated or non-existent infrastructure and other works. As a result of the implementation of the project, the renovated apartments will be rented out to the target group specified in Cabinet Regulation No 538 of 19 September 2023, thus ensuring access of these persons to appropriate residential premises. The total project costs are 338 519,60 EUR, of which eligible costs are 297 500 EUR (ERDF funding - 252 875 EUR (85%) and local government funding - 44 625 EUR (15%)) and outside the project costs 41 019,60 EUR. The total co-financing of Smiltene municipality in the project is 85 644,60 EUR, which is planned to be secured with a loan from the State Treasury. The project is planned to be implemented by 31 December 2026.
