Improvement of public business infrastructure on Railway Street and Viestura Street

The aim of the project "Improvement of the Public Business Infrastructure on Railway Street and Viestura Street" is the development of the public business infrastructure in Gulbene city, reducing negative socio-economic consequences in the regions, promoting the support of merchants in Gulbene city, thus creating new jobs and private non-financial investments in intangible investments and fixed assets. To promote business development, it is planned to renovate the cover of Viestura Street ~1.60 km long and Railway Street ~1.43 km long. Renovation of worn-out carriageways and surfaces, provision of a modern and safe environment for the surrounding population, as well as adaptation of infrastructure to modern needs are planned on Viestura Street. In the implementation of the reconstruction of the street, it is planned to ensure environmental accessibility requirements for people with functional disorders, providing for a new road asphalt pavement or pavement covering for all carriageways. It is planned to build a pedestrian sidewalk, which is combined with a bicycle path, in addition to laying benches along the side of the pedestrian sidewalk. It is planned to create a rainwater drainage system, providing for the cleaning of side ditches, the restoration of culverts, as well as the construction of new water supply and sewerage networks. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to dismantle the old lighting poles, install the existing LED luminaires on new lighting supports. It is planned to create an additional LED street light with remote control and dimming of luminaires and to install a new lighting cable. Renovation of the asphalt concrete pavement from Riga Street to Border Street is planned on Railway Street, as well as repair of the existing pavement of the pedestrian path, if necessary. In the section from Border Street to Emzes Street, the reconstruction of a full-surface structure and the construction of a sidewalk, which is combined with a bicycle path, are planned. Construction of new rainwater drainage system, cleaning of side ditches, restoration of culverts, if necessary, is planned in the section from Border Street to Emzes Street. The project will create at least 20 new jobs, attract private non-financial investments in the amount of at least 1 523 633 EUR and support the operation of at least 6 merchants in the improved infrastructure.In implementing the activities planned within the framework of the project, the development of the region will be promoted, a more favourable environment will be created for the development of existing merchants and the creation of new enterprises in the territory of the city of Gulbene, as well as the arrangement of public infrastructure for society as a whole will be ensured.The total cost of the project is 3 112 629.33 EUR, of which the eligible costs are 3 044 702.86 EUR, where 75.06% or 2 285 448,09 EUR is the financing of the Just Transition Fund (JTF), 22.95% or 698 834.88 EUR is the co-financing of the municipality and 1.98% or 60 419.89 EUR is the co-financing of the cooperation partner. Ineligible costs in the amount of EUR 65 365.22 are expenses of the project cooperation partner, consisting of VAT rateThe planned implementation period of the project is 22 months, and the project activities will be completed by 30 June 2026.
