In the project ‘Promotion of the use of zero-emission vehicles in the municipality of Southern Kurzeme’, the municipality of Southern Kurzeme Municipality plans to purchase 3 M1 specialised vehicles and charging infrastructure for the provision of social services intended for their operation, which is in line with the specific support objective 6.1.1 ‘Reducing the economic, social and environmental consequences of the transition to climate neutrality in the most affected regions’ of measure 6.1.1.6 ‘Promotion of the use of zero-emission vehicles in municipalities’ of the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under the objective ‘Purchase of zero-emission municipal vehicles by promoting the transition to a climate-neutral economy’. The purchase of the vehicles provided for in the project will ensure the fulfilment of the autonomous functions of the local government specified in accordance with regulatory enactments - to provide support to the inhabitants in solving social problems, as well as the possibility to receive social assistance and social services, and to ensure the health of the inhabitants by organising the availability of health care services and ensuring the fulfilment of the administrative tasks arising from these autonomous functions.The main target group of the project is the recipients of social services, social assistance and social care.The total funding of the project is EUR 279 428.33, of which 84.25% from the JTF is EUR 235 448.58 and 15.75% or EUR 43979.75 co-financing from the local government.The project is expected to be implemented by 31 December 2026.
