To improve the efficiency of the biological treatment plant in Valmiera city, including reducing the concentration of pollution in the environment, improving the operation of the sludge dewatering line and reducing the electricity consumption in the waste water treatment process. Main activities of the project: 1. Improvement of the technological process by installing sand-rinsing equipment and precision energy-efficient wastewater mixers in biological treatment reservoirs (N/DN zone and hydrolysis zone). 2. Improving the performance of sewage sludge dewatering plants by installing precision-acting sewage sludge recirculation pumps and hydrolysis sewage sludge pumps, constructing new excess sludge gravity sealants, installing a new polymer dosing/padding plant and more energy-efficient centrifuges and sludge conveyors. As a result of the implementation of the project, it is planned to · increase the efficiency of treatment plants and reduce the concentration of total phosphorus in waste water discharged into the environment, reaching the average concentration value of discharge below 0.7 mg/l. · to reduce the electricity consumption in waste water biological treatment reservoirs and in the process of sludge dewatering by 35%. Planned eligible costs of the project: 1 262 381.95 EURO, incl. European Union regional development background support of 65% up to 820 548.27 EURO and SIA Valmieras ūdens co-financing of not less than 35% up to 441 833.68 EURO The budget also includes the costs of contingencies intended to cover possible increases in costs. The project implementation period is 21 months from the date of conclusion of the contract.
