Establishment of a Polymer Waste Recycling Facility at SIA "GALANGAL"

The aim of the project is to create an efficient and modern polymer waste recycling facility, in which the used packaging will be crushed, purified and recycled into secondary raw materials. It will promote sustainable use of resources, reduce environmental pollution and improve the efficiency of waste management in Latvia. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to supplement the existing activities with a new processing line, where sorted polymer waste will be cleaned, crushed and recycled into plastic pellets, which can be used in the production of products.The main activities envisaged for the successful implementation of the project include: the purchase and installation of waste treatment facilities, the construction of a waste treatment area and the implementation of public education and environmental awareness measures. As a result of the implementation of the project, the overall waste recycling capacity of the company will be increased, as well as the overall development of the company will be promoted. The total cost of implementing the project is EUR 8 158 680.67. It is intended to attract co-financing from the Cohesion Fund in the amount of EUR 4 159 915.77. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of 2026.
