The aim of the project is to improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment services for 20900 inhabitants of Jēkabpils city by improving the efficiency of the operation of the Jēkabpils city wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) complex and reducing the amount of pollution discharged into the WTP environment. Within the framework of the project it is planned to make investments in several activities: 1) improve the efficiency of WWTP treatment by rebuilding and automating the biological treatment process and installing chemical or tertiary treatment plants; 2) Efficiency of the sewage sludge treatment process by reconstructing the sludge treatment, dewatering infrastructure and installing a new, energy-efficient sewage sludge press. 3) Reconstruction and rebuilding of the waste water outlet from an open channel flow to a covered outlet, reducing the infiltration of treated waste water into the ground and ensuring efficient accounting of treated waste water. Planned project eligible costs - 2 176 150 EUR, of which 65% or 1 414 497.50 EUR is planned to be covered from ERDF funding, but 35% or 761 652.50 EUR from SIA "Jēkabpils ūdens" budget. The planned investments will achieve the following results: -) Rebuilt and equipped with a flow meter closed type sewage outlet (about 60m); -) New sewage sludge dewatering infrastructure installed (sludge press with linkage) - 1 set, -) Reconstructed sludge sealer with linkage - 2 set, -) Creation of a third or chemical treatment system at the WWTP - 1 set, -) Reconstructed equipment for the biological process at the WWTP - 1 set, -) Reconstruction and improvement of the SCADA system - 1 set. Planned project implementation time - 33 months.
