The aim of the project "Implementation of health promotion and disease prevention measures for the local community in Cēsis Municipality" is to improve the level of health of the local community by promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing access to disease prevention measures, including public education about healthy nutrition, physical activity, as well as preventive actions to reduce disease risks, as well as to change the habits of the population and to focus more on a healthy lifestyle. Activities are planned in the following areas: physical activity; a healthy diet; mental health; reduction and prevention of dependencies; sexual and reproductive health; promoting health and improving disease prevention; reduction of traumatism; prenatal and early childhood parents’ skills programmes. In order to achieve the objective, it is planned to organise at least 1800 health promotion activities, including informative educational classes, lectures and other activities, improving access to health promotion and disease prevention services for all inhabitants of the county. The project activities are planned to be implemented from Q1 2025 to Q4 2029. The total cost of the project is EUR 321 893.00, of which EUR 273 609.05 is co-financing from the European Social Fund Plus and EUR 48 283.95 from the State budget.
