The aim of the project "Establishment of infrastructure for the provision of community-based services in Liepaja" (hereinafter - the Project) is to create and develop a community-based social service infrastructure in the city of Liepaja by constructing a new day care centre for persons with severe mental and multiple impairments, who have a certain disability group I or a third or fourth level of care. The project plans to build a new day centre building with an area of about 500 square meters, providing premises for 18 persons with severe mental and multiple impairments, adapted for wheelchair users. The building has rooms for classes, physiotherapy, recreation, catering, hygiene and care, rooms for staff and driver, technical rooms and auxiliary rooms. It is planned to improve the territory by constructing access roads and car parks for customers and employees, constructing pedestrian paths, adapted for people in wheelchairs, creating a recreation and outdoor lessons area and constructing a fence around the territory to ensure the safety of customers. The interior is intended to be equipped with all necessary equipment for customers and staff (furniture, tables, chairs, special beds), computer equipment for employees and equipment for work with the customer (mobile hoist, care couch, sensor room equipment) and materials for classes. It is planned to create 9 workplaces in the new centre, which will ensure the operation of the centre (centre manager, social worker, social rehabilitologist, social caregiver, physiotherapist, nurse and caregivers). The total eligible costs of the project are planned to be EUR 3 912 707, ERDF funding 56.12% or EUR 2 195 811.17, State budget funding EUR 1 129 598.51 28.87% and local government co-financing 15.01% or EUR 587 297.32. The project implementation period is planned to be 39 months from Q4 2024 to Q4 2027.
