Title of the project: Strengthening societal resilience and promoting community self-organisationThe aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of local communities to self-organise, cooperate and participate in creating an understanding of the common good, promoting a sense of responsibility for peers and the development of societal resilience skills, while using the potential of regional NGO support centres and strengthening the effective and sustainable functioning of civil society.The project will provide support to the target groups of the project - the active population of the community, informal initiative groups, associations and foundations, regional NGO support centres, vulnerable or at risk of social exclusion. Key project activities:• Development and implementation of a methodological programme of practical civil society initiatives to strengthen the resilience of local communities;• Development of criteria and selection and implementation of community initiatives in municipalities, promoting community cohesion and resilience skills;• Development of support networks for the activation of different communities, including cooperation platforms (creation of social network groups);• Implementation of cohesive, cooperation and experience-sharing activities for regional NGO support centres, community non-governmental organisations and activists;• Implementation of publicity activities to inform the public about the progress and results of the project, including a communication campaign;• Analysis of the impact of the project and development of recommendations for further support to civil society. Achievable monitoring indicators: · Output indicator – number of national, regional or local public administrations or public service bodies and services supported – 5, including by 31 December 2024 – 5; · Output indicator - Number of non-governmental organisations and community representatives with strengthened capacity to contribute to societal resilience - 60"Planned additional results:• Strengthened indicatively 300 citizen resilience, self-organisation, participation and collaboration skills;• Supported at least 80 community initiatives focused on strengthening community resilience capacities and developing self-organisation, cooperation and participation skills; • 1 civil society support network activity in Latvia for the activation, consolidation and promotion of resilience skills of local communities, including social networking groups;• at least 10 events (nine national and one international) have taken place with the aim of communicating the project results and good practices, as well as promoting cross-sectoral cooperation and citizens' cohesion;• a public awareness campaign has been implemented, on the initiatives implemented with the aim of encouraging public interest and active involvement in civic activities. Project funding: EUR 3 663 679 (of which financing from the European Union Fund Plus (hereinafter - ESF+): 3 114 127 EUR, co-financing from the state budget: 549 552 EUR) The project will be implemented by five partners: Association "Latvian Civic Alliance" is a beneficiary (lead partner) who will implement the project in cooperation with association "Zemgales NGO Centre", association "South Latgale NGO Support Centre", association "Kurzeme NGO Centre", foundation "Valmiera Municipality Foundation". Project implementation period: the planned date of conclusion of the contract on the implementation of the project, provisionally April 2025, shall be considered as the beginning of the implementation of the project. Implementation of project activities has started from 13 December 2024, starting to implement project activity No.10 "Ensuring project management and implementation"
