Reconstruction of 7.30-7.78 km of the main state highway A7 Riga - Bauska - Lithuanian border (Grenctāle) and construction of a two-level pedestrian-cyclist crossing

The aim of the project is to rebuild the 7.30-7.78 km pavement of the main state road A7 Riga-Bauska-Lithuanian border (Grenctāle) and to construct a two-level pedestrian-cyclist crossing, which would provide a safe opportunity for pedestrians to cross the road on two levels, as well as ensure comfortable and safe driving conditions for road users. As a result of the investment, the safety of road users, including vulnerable road users, and the accessibility of the environment to public facilities such as the Rimi A7 shopping centre, public transport stops will be improved by establishing appropriate infrastructure on the roads of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) where existing solutions do not meet traffic safety requirements. In the future, it will be possible to continue this infrastructure both in the direction of Ķekava and Riga within the framework of other projects. The total estimated cost of the project is EUR 3 914 486.00, including EUR 3 327 313.10 from the European Cohesion Fund and EUR 587 172.90 from the State budget. As a result of the implementation of the project, the safety and environmental accessibility of road users, including vulnerable road users, will be improved at 1 site. In turn, the costs of development of construction projects, construction supervision and author's supervision are covered from the State budget programme 23.00.00. the ‘National Road Fund’. The project is planned to be implemented by 31 December 2027.
