The aim of the project "Developments of STEM and Civic Participation for a Wider Educational Experience and Career Choice" (hereinafter - the Project) is to provide children and young people with the opportunity to attend STEM and civic participation developments that contribute to the achievement of learning content outcomes and goals in order to diversify their learning experience during the learning process, to link learning theory more effectively with practice, to raise awareness of the labour market requirements of these areas, to raise interest in the acquisition of these areas and to promote further learning choices in these areas. Project target groups: students of compulsory pre-school age in educational institutions implementing pre-school education programmes, students of general educational institutions implementing in-person primary and secondary education programmes, students of vocational educational institutions implementing in-person secondary education programmes. In order to achieve the objective of the Project, in accordance with Paragraph 17 of Cabinet Regulation No 882 of 17 December 2024 on implementing the specific support objective 4.2.2 ‘Improving the quality, inclusiveness, efficiency and relevance of education and training systems in the labour market, including through the validation of non-formal and informal learning to support the acquisition of key competences, including entrepreneurial and digital skills, and promoting the introduction of dual learning systems and apprenticeships’, measure 4.2.2.1 ‘Implementation of quality and modern education at the pre-school, primary and secondary education levels’ (‘Cabinet Regulation No 882’), the following Project activities are provided for: 1. Development and maintenance of a catalogue of events. 2. Planning and coordination of events in municipalities and educational institutions. 3. Attendance of events. 4. Ensuring project management and implementation. 5. Measures to ensure communication and visual identity requirements for the implementation of the project (VIAA and cooperation partners). During the implementation of the project it is planned to achieve the following results and indicators: Monitoring indicators: the programme output indicator until 31 August 2028 – number of national, regional or local public administration or public service institutions and services that have received support – 88 institutions, the programme output indicator until 31 August 2028 – institutions that have implemented improvements in the quality, efficiency and labour market relevance of education and training systems – 88 institutions. National indicators: the proportion of students who participated in the course - at least 85% of students of the compulsory pre-school age in educational institutions implementing pre-school educational programmes and students in general and vocational educational institutions implementing in-person primary and secondary education programmes. the proportion of students whose choice of the interdisciplinary course of secondary school "Project work" has been influenced by the experience of attending the course - at least 30% of the total number of students in the general secondary educational institutions involved in the project at the secondary stage, the proportion of students whose subsequent learning choice after the acquisition of primary and secondary education has been influenced by the experience of attending the course - at least 50% of the total number of students in the basic and secondary education level in the general and vocational educational institutions involved in the project. The total funding of the project is EUR 34,009,600, consisting of ESF funding of EUR 28,908,160 and national budget co-financing of EUR 5,101,440.? The State Education Development Agency (hereinafter - the Agency) shall implement the project from April 2025 until 31 August 2028. The conclusion of an agreement on the implementation of the project (hereinafter - the Agreement) with the liaison body - the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (hereinafter - the liaison body) is planned for the second quarter of May 2025. In accordance with Cabinet Regulation No 882, prior to the conclusion of the Agreement with the Cooperation Institution, the implementation of activities 1 and 4 of the Project was commenced in the second quarter of April 2025, carrying out the planning and implementation of the project implementation and management works, work with the cooperation partners (municipalities and educational institutions) on the topicalities of the project and the expected results of the involvement of the partners, starting work on the establishment of a catalogue of events, the detailed elaboration of the criteria for STEM training areas and civic participation events, and the identification of the offer of the providers of events.
