The aim of the project is to increase the amount of private investment in Smiltene Municipality by investing in the road infrastructure necessary for the development of commercial activity. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to create public infrastructure to improve the business environment for both existing and potential entrepreneurs by constructing a two-way asphalt carriageway (continuation of Limbažu Street) between Daugava and Gauja Streets in Smiltene. In the project implementation area it is planned to build engineering networks, pedestrian-bike road, street lighting and improvement elements. The connection of Limbažu street to Daugavas street will be created as a rotation circle, which will allow to regulate the traffic flow and increase safety. Continuation of Limbažu Street will connect two industrial building areas, providing faster access to existing and potential merchants. Its construction will allow to divert heavy transport from the streets of the center, reducing traffic volume and creating a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists and students who go to the nearby educational institution. The risk of accidents will be reduced, especially with pedestrians and cyclists involved. In the territory of Smiltene city there will be less heavy vehicles that cause noise and vibrations, thus improving the quality of life of the surrounding inhabitants. Project expected deliverables: Merchants benefiting from developed public infrastructure - 5; Private non-financial investment in intangible investments and fixed assets - EUR 1 720 000.00 Wage fund increase in private companies - EUR 1 300 000.00 The project is planned to be implemented from Q1 2025 to Q4 2029. The idea of the project is in line with the Smiltene Municipality Sustainable Development Strategy 2013-2035 and it is included in the Smiltene Municipality Development Programme 2022-2028. The total cost of the project is EUR 3 571 215.54, of which the total eligible costs are EUR 2 857 285.89, the financing of the municipality of Smiltene to cover the eligible costs is EUR 267 779.83 and to cover the extra-project costs EUR 474 215.03. The private eligible costs of the cooperation partner - SIA "Smiltenes NKUP" are EUR 160 813.05 and the private extra-project costs are EUR 239 714.62.
