The objective of the project is to improve the efficiency of the water management services of the municipal capital company SIA ‘Daugavpils ūdens’ by ensuring adequate infrastructure capacity, improving operational efficiency as well as reducing pollution. The following activities are planned in the project: 1. Improvement of the treatment efficiency of waste water treatment plants: Replacement of 2 mechanized crates; Replacement of 4 reverse sludge pumps in the new treatment line; Replacement of 2 air blowers in pre-treatment; aeration (diffuser) systems are replaced by 4 aerial aerial systems; Replacement of 11 mixers; modernization of the control and automation system; 2. Rehabilitation of sewage sludge dewatering and treatment plants: Replacement of 2 centrifuges; Replacement of 3 sludge pumps. As a result of the project, the quality and efficiency of waste water treatment will be improved for 72 526 inhabitants. The implementation of all the activities planned under the project will enable waste water treatment plants to be provided with adequate capacity, improve the efficiency of waste water treatment, reduce pollution and the primary energy consumption of WWTP. Total project costs excluding VAT amount to EUR 2 187 520.35, including eligible costs of EUR 2 187 520.35 (of which ERDF co-financing 65% - EUR 1 421 888.22 and SIA Daugavpils ūdens funds 35% - EUR 765 632.13). VAT is not included in the total costs of the Project, as VAT is recoverable in accordance with the procedures laid down in laws and regulations. Planned duration of the project: 33 months from the signature of the agreement on the implementation of the project.
