In accordance with Cabinet Regulation No 448 of 9 July 2024 on implementing measure 4.1.2.2 ‘Implementation of health promotion and disease prevention measures for the local community’ of the specific support objective 4.1.2 ‘Improving equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable health care, health promotion and disease prevention services by improving the efficiency and resilience of health care systems’ of the project ‘We About Healthy Riga’ (hereinafter ‘the project’), the objective of the project ‘We About Healthy Riga’ (hereinafter ‘the project’) is to improve equal and timely access to health promotion and disease prevention services by ensuring health promotion and disease prevention measures in the City of Riga. Within the framework of the project, all citizens, but especially those at risk of poverty, social and territorial exclusion, will have access to various types of activities (lectures, camps, master classes, physical activity, group classes, etc.) in the fields of health promotion and disease prevention:1.Addiction reduction and prevention;2.Psychic health;3.Healthy nutrition;4.Physical activities;5.Health promotion and improvement of disease prevention;6.Anti-natal and early childhood parents' skills programmes. It is planned that the measures planned within the framework of the Project will involve the widest possible number of residents and guests of Riga City Council, paying particular attention to the population at risk of poverty, social and territorial exclusion, as far as possible expanding the measures closer to the place of residence of the residents - in the neighbourhoods of the municipality, thus improving the accessibility of the measures, as well as promoting the achievement of the national specific indicators set out in the Regulation – the number of inhabitants (50 000 persons in the country) who have changed their health habits as a result of health promotion measures. When planning the activities of the project, the guidelines developed by the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control for local governments in promoting health will be taken into account and included, as well as the objectives set out in the Ministry of Health's Public Health Guidelines for 2021-2027 and the results to be achieved, which are not said.The total cost of the project is EUR 4 778 321.00, incl. 85% of the European Social Fund Plus funding in the amount of EUR 4 061 572.85 and 15% of the state budget funding in the amount of EUR 716 748.15. The project implementation period is planned from the first quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2029.
