The objective of the project ‘Construction of Janis Čakstes gatve’ (hereinafter ‘the project’) is to ensure the construction, reconstruction and renewal of the transport infrastructure of the city of Riga by ensuring international connectivity and integration into the TEN-T network, preventing infrastructure disruptions on the existing urban main street network and improving the technical parameters of the transport infrastructure and traffic safety. During the project it is planned to build a new route - "Jāņa Čakstes gatve" from the A8 highway and connect it with the infrastructure of the Southern Bridge, implementing the following activities: Construction of the new construction of Janis Čakstes gatve in the section from Valdeķu Street to Ziepniekkalna Street (Stage 1), including construction and reconstruction of engineering networks and construction of the new construction of Janis Čakstes gatve in the section from Vienibas gatve to Valdeķu Street (Stage 2), including construction and reconstruction of engineering networks; Author supervision; Construction supervision. Measures to ensure communication and visual identity requirements will be implemented with the help of extra-project funds. The total project costs are planned to amount to EUR 122 732 478.67, of which the Cohesion Fund (CF) financing is EUR 60 185 to 896.00 and the co-financing of Riga City Council (hereinafter – the municipality) is up to EUR 62 546 to 582.67. Flexibility funding of up to EUR 11 297?998.00 may be allocated from the CF for the implementation of the project, by which the co-financing share of the municipality will be reduced. As a result of the implementation of the project, a new transport infrastructure of 3.5 km is planned to be built, thus creating a new section of the TEN-T network that is missing in the urban infrastructure. Project implementation planned from? 4th quarter of 2024 to 4th quarter of 2027. The contracts concluded provide for the start of works only after full financing has been provided.
