The objective of the project ‘Development of a new information system for personal identification documents, implementation of a partial self-service solution and development of technical infrastructure for the issuance of personal identification documents’ (hereinafter ‘the project’) is to develop the process of drawing up personal identification documents in order to provide Latvian residents and foreigners with personal identification documents quickly, safely and conveniently, by strengthening the registration and identification of natural persons in the physical and electronic environment, expanding the range of digital possibilities of the society, at the same time making the receipt of services by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (hereinafter ‘OCMA’) more convenient and faster, and ensuring the full and uninterrupted operation of the personalisation process of the information system for personal identification documents (hereinafter ‘PADIS’) and personal identification documents (hereinafter ‘PAD’). develop a new version of PADIS; develop and implement a service for issuing PADs outside the OCMA; to develop a new PADIS e-service, so that customers, when applying for the PAD, can pay the state fee and draw up an application by going online and checking data from other information systems (hereinafter referred to as the PADIS e-service); purchase PAD workshop equipment and customer self-service kiosks; purchase the necessary technical infrastructure and software for PAD personalisation to ensure the continuity of the PAD personalisation process; to develop an e-service of the Register of Natural Persons Information System (hereinafter - FPRIS) for receiving and updating personal data of natural persons; ensure the transfer of certain natural person identification data to the European Digital Identity Wallet.Project implementation period: until 31 December 2029.
