The project supports the implementation of the City of Tampere's circular economy strategy and implements a regional business strategy (superior in innovation capacity - sustainably growing) supporting the green and digital transition of regional companies, the growth of the circular economy business, high-carbon handprint industrial solutions, responsibility and resource efficiency. The project's measures will increase cooperation and co-development between the public and private sectors to achieve carbon neutrality goals and to develop low-carbon value and service chains and to scale up the resulting solutions. Pirkanmaa is making a double transition to a low-emission, green digital economy. The province is utilizing its manufacturing know-how as a pioneer in the circular economy and adaptation to climate change and as a provider of solutions. A provincial bio - and circular economy platform is under development (PirkaCirc) and its functionalities will be utilised in this project as well. Also regional concepts developed and piloted in KiertoTEM-project (data-platform, circular economy accelerator) are applied and further developed where applicable. New businesses are actively sought for sustainability, investments and jobs are created, sustainability know-how is increased, environmental impact assessment is more efficient, environmental load is reduced and the state of environment improves. The spearheads of Pirkanmaa's smart specialization strategy are e.g. responsibly renewing industry and a controlled transformation of sustainability; and the development of smart and sustainable communities that the measures of this project will respond to. The platform approach is an important form of development in various business environments as well as in the development of public sector services. Co-development promotes sustainable urban development, green transition in business ecosystems and the innovative capacity of business, research institutions and universities. The city acts as an attractive environment for project development and experimentation in Finland, attracting international investments and experts, and acts as a forerunner in building digital and low-carbon communities.
