Improvement of highway 27 and Silatie junction in Haapajärvi

The project is located on highway 27 east of the Haapajärvi town center. It aims to improve the traffic arrangements of a company called Haapajärven Ha-Sa Oy. The new traffic arrangements will enable the company’s continuous development and enlargement. Haapajärven Ha-Sa Oy has an ongoing investment project to construct new buildings in the area in order to develop sawmill operation. In a way, this project will also secure the company’s future development plans and investments. The project will improve the junction of highway 27 and Silatie by building a separated four-way junction. The junction will have separate turning lanes leading to two industrial areas. When coming from the direction of Haapajärvi, the turning lane leads towards Silatie. When coming from the opposite direction, the turning lane leads towards Haapajärven Ha-Sa Oy. The middle columns are made with curb stone and concrete stone paving. The project will improve the flow and reliability of passenger traffic and freight transport. Also, the predictability of travel times will increase. This project will benefit transports serving business sector and other car traffic. There are concrete and timber industry in the project area. In addition, the project will increase the attractiveness of the Haapajärvi town center because traffic will be structured better for different user-groups. The traffic environment will become more agreeable, and the traffic safety will increase.
