There are around 2000 wind power transports passing through the port of Raahe in a year. The amount of wind power transport will increase during the upcoming years and the transports will take place all year around. Transport volumes will reach their peak in 2030 and the transports are estimated to continue until 2045. The project consists of improving five road junctions. The junctions are located on road 8102 (Lapaluodontie), road 18582 (Rautaruukintie-Satamajärventie) and highway 8. The aim of the project is to enable continuous wind power transports through the port of Raahe in to the south and north directions of highway 8. These actions enable even longer wing transports up to 100 meters long. Another aim of the project is to enable high transports through Koksaamontien to the south and north directions of highway 8. These transports cannot go through Satamajärventie because of the electric power lines there.
