Digital routes in North Savo project responds to growing interest of Finnish nature and nature tourism. It also responds to the need to develop sustainable tourism and promote the development of digitalization of the tourism industry. This project aims to develop international tourism in North Savo by developing and testing new virtual nature tourism services/digital content in international and national collaboration. In the project, three virtual routes are going to be co-developed. The routes will be tested by international customers. In addition, a review of possibilities of virtual tourism will be written including for example the demand, distribution channel, business benefits and earning models. The project's aim is to support and courage SMEs to apply and use new digital technologies and raise their ability to meet the challenges of digital transformation.
