The purpose of the project is to research new application areas for sustainable smart solutions in the arctic region. These may contain, but not limited to, robotics, artificial intelligence or low-power long range radio technologies. One of the application areas with special interest are the LoRa network-based positioning systems. Special focus is also on the application of robotics in the arctic region, such as in service with the farms located in the region. New application areas will be researched for robotics. This research will also focus on finding new application areas for drones and drone technologies in the arctic region. One focus area is artificial intelligence in assistance of both safety, productivity and efficiency. This can contain LoRa based systems, drones and robotics as seen fit. The project contains five work packages: WP1 Survey into smart and sustainable solutions WP2 New smart and sustainable solutions – Demonstrator planning WP3 Development and demonstration of new smart and sustainable solutions WP4 “Sustainable Smart Solutions in the Arctic Region” Publication WP5 Management and dissemination Project aims to find new application areas for these technologies in conjunction with the ongoing projects such as CHARM and Energy ECS and they can be fully utilized and improved upon by subsequent projects such as the HE4T–project, which aims to develop battery-less systems based on energy harvesting based energy sources.
