ICT Hub Joensuu -Growth Programme

The main goal of the project is to get new business and growth for the Joensuu region's ICT industry and start the Joensuu ICT Hub operation. The sub-goals of the project are: - Development of the business and product development expertise of ICT companies, increasing R&D activities and the emergence of new companies and spinoffs. - In Finland and internationally, the creation of an interesting and desired growth environment and services for ICT companies, operators and experts - Joensuu ICT Hub, which will operate as a digital innovation center. - The development and strengthening of the ICT industry's regional value chain, as well as the new locations and investments of companies in the region (including spinoffs and start-ups). The concrete implementation of the project is divided into three work packages (WP): WP1: ICT Hub Business WP2: ICT Hub Networks WP3: ICT Hub Value Chain Development The results of the project are divided by work packages as follows: WP1: ICT Hub Business - About 5 experiments / pilots are carried out. - As a result of the experiments / pilots, a total of 1–3 start-ups or spinoffs will be created, in addition to 3 new / improved products / services / solution models. - The project organizes around 10-15 training events, which increase the business and product development skills of participating ICT companies. WP2: ICT Hub Networks - Analysis and conclusions and follow-up measures on the situation of the ICT industry in the region. - Construction of the Joensuu ICT Hub - digital innovation center - (practical operation, brand), involving around 50 companies / educational institutions / stakeholder groups in the ICT sector and around 150 experts. - Joensuu ICT Hub mega-event once a year, around 80 participants/event. The annual event increases the visibility and recognition of Joensuu as a concentration of ICT expertise, attracting new companies and experts in the area. - around 20 targeted and facilitated events, with a total of around 250 participants. The events promote the networking of companies and operators. WP3: ICT Hub Value Chain Development - Value chain analysis and summary; what kind of companies are needed in the area and what is the region's unique attraction factor. - Marketing and communication plan to reach target companies and to promote the growth of Joensuu's ICT industry. - 5 established companies, which will employ a total of 30-40 people in the longer term, during the project implementation period of approximately 15. - ICT industry communication and placement material.
