The project's target group and target areas are the leading industrial areas in Joensuu region; GreenPark in Joensuu, Outokumpu Industrial Park in Outokumpu, and Biotie-Papinkangas business area in Joensuu. The project's measures are aimed especially at improving the energy efficiency of companies and premises companies operating in the above-mentioned areas, as well as companies located in the areas. The main goal of the project is to increase the growth and competitiveness of Joensuu region's industry and companies operating in the industrial sector by improving energy efficiency. The key measures of the project are updating the Master Plan of GreenPark industrial park, drawing up the energy strategy of Outokumpu Industry Park, and drawing up the Master Plan of Biotie-Papinkangas business area. In addition, the project will carry out 3 surveys related to energy efficiency in concrete energy challenge sites of companies and premises companies in GreenPark and Outokumpu Industry Park, and prepare an electricity network survey for Biotie business area. The strategies and Master Plans described above will be completed as outputs of the project's measures. As a result of the energy efficiency studies, comprehensive information is obtained for future energy solution options from the point of view of various local energy production and energy saving options. As a result of the electricity network survey, significant competitiveness is aimed for energy intensive companies in Biotie-Papinkangas business area. The general results of the energy efficiency reports are also utilized and communicated more broadly to the awareness of industrial companies, regional development companies and other organizations in the province through electronic channels and at the possible events.
