MORE - Modern learning platforms advancing railway industry -project (402014) is a part of project entirety, which includes development project and according investment project (MORE - Modern learning platforms advancing railway industry, "investments" 401930). The project's goal is to develop an innovative digital learning platforms together with railway operators and by its use in pilot training gain research data on advancing railway safety for the industries businesses and learning institutions to use in their own operations. With digital learning platforms businesses can familiarize their personnel to insufficiency and deviant circumstances and in railway infrastructures different equipment authentically and cost efficiently without the risks of true railway environment. Innovative digital learning platforms increase businesses competitiveness in utilizing resources and know-how and improve training and operations in the field of safety crucial railway industry. The operation model defined by the collaborative development network and its piloting is examined in the project, focusing in the pilots effect on railway safety. The operations model created by the collaborative development network defines the used hardware infrastructure, software ecosystem that increases know-how capital and the meaningful national parameters considering railway safety and also the pedagogical basis for their use. As a result of the project an RDI-environment is born for the collaborative development network to utilize. In the project, as the result of piloting the operation model to advance railway safety a guide in composing an operation model, which describes the infrastructure of an innovative digital learning platform and its use in developing railway industries know-how and the effects of the operation model in railway safety, is created. With the knowledge acquired by piloting the new digital learning platforms, the progression of the railway industry and the state of Kymenlaakso as a substantial railway region are strengthened. A professional network consisting of public authorities, businesses and learning institutions can implement the knowledge capital created in the project in their own development.
