EKOTEQU

EKOTEQU project aims to improve the utilization of side streams generated in the Lapland region and the improvement of resource efficiency by utilizing an agile experimentation culture. The goal of the project is to enthuse and inspire regional companies to incorporate circular economy principles into their own business through public agile experiments based on the problems and ideas of entrepreneurs in the Lapland region. Circular economy creates new business opportunities for Lapland region. Extending the life cycle of products, using sustainable materials and adding energy- and resource efficient production processes make possible to create new, more efficient business operations regionally. By getting familiar with the production processes of regional operators and the side streams that arise in them, it is possible to create new products for Lapland's business life with the help of regional innovation services. SMEs usually have limited resources for development activities, even if there are ideas for adding circular economy principles to their business operations. EKOTEQU project responds to this challenge by offering companies in the region the opportunity to bring their own idea or problem related to the development of the circular economy to be solved as a public prototype. The objective of EKOTEQU project is to implement six circular economy-promoting prototypes of the problems and ideas of Lapland companies. The prototypes work as an entry to create new regional business in line with the circular economy theme. In long term, with the help of the EKOTEQU project, the business development of Lapland companies is promoted in accordance with circular economy principles.
