The main goal of the project is to create an internationally known Center of Excellence in the pastry industry "Pastry Saimaa" in South Karelia. The sub-goals of the project are: 1) The internationalizing "Pastry Saimaa" 2) Learning "Pastry Saimaa" 3) Competitive "Pastry Saimaa" 4) Product innovation "Pastry Saimaa" 5) Enterprising "Pastry Saimaa" 6) Cultural "Pastry Saimaa" The results and effects of the project are: International level expertise increases in the pastry industry both in South Karelia and in Finland as a whole. We get international connections, partnership and cooperation schools from outside Finland. We learn a new patisserie culture from international operations. Language skills in the region are strengthened. We are better able to offer education in an internationalizing Finland. The "Pastry Saimaa" Center of Excellence will receive modern equipment that both South Karelian companies and students can process local ingredients and make new product innovations. We strengthen product development expertise and create new recipes. We have a new-age creative "pastry family", and the patisserie culture in South Karelia is getting stronger. South Karelia will get an international top-level training provider for the confectionery industry, who works extensively with different partners. We know how to organize international training events and we are a well-known, significant training center on a national and international level. Through the development of Abilympics competition activities, the capabilities of experts will be increased to consider the needs of young people who need special support in education; it is emphasized internationally at the entire EU level. The number of new students is increasing.
