Public road 15169 (Viljakansaarentie) is a 28 km long road with an average traffic volume ranging from 38 to 266 vehicles per day. The largest traffic volumes are on the 16 km long road section between highway 62 and public road 15175 (Kietävälänvirta). About 120 people live permanently on Viljakansaari and there are about 450 leisure apartments. In the immediate area of influence of the road there are e.g. industrial companies, tourism companies, transport companies, passenger transport companies and fisheries. The life cycle of the pavement has been used up and the road structure needs to be strengthened. The poor condition of the road makes smooth traffic more difficult and the damaged pavement causes traffic safety risks and transport equipment damages. The goal of the project is to upgrade the road in such a way that the service level of the road enables smooth and safe traffic conditions for all road users. The goal is to improve the accessibility and operating conditions of local businesses and the predictability of business transport.
