Productivity with AI

Enhancing Productivity with AI - TeTu Project The goal of the Enhancing Productivity with AI (TeTu) project is to reach a large number of micro and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Northern Ostrobothnia region that wish to enhance their AI-related capabilities for business development. AI accelerates numerous routine tasks, enhances marketing efforts, and significantly transforms various content creation and product development processes. The measures implemented in the project will be openly available to all interested parties; anyone can register for and participate in information sessions, workshops, club activities, test and experimentation environments, as well as other development activities produced by the project. The primary objective of the Enhancing Productivity with AI project is to develop the readiness of micro and SMEs in Northern Ostrobothnia to leverage the opportunities presented by rapid AI development to improve their productivity and competitiveness. This aims to ensure the success of regional companies amidst the swift AI revolution. By raising awareness and capabilities related to digitalization and AI among micro and SMEs, as well as other actors, the project helps them adapt to a rapidly changing operating environment and seize new business opportunities. This will improve the competitiveness and employment opportunities of the companies. In the long term, this leads to increased employment and tax revenues regionally. Simultaneously, the project strengthens the AI-related capabilities of local educational institutions to better meet the region's skill and research, development, and innovation (RDI) needs. The project is divided into five work packages, implemented in collaboration with BusinessOulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and Centria University of Applied Sciences. WP1 - Situation Analysis This work package aims to assess the current state of AI utilization in the Northern Ostrobothnia region and identify development needs, followed by the creation of a corresponding development program (main responsibility: Oamk and Centria, with active participation from BusinessOulu in developing the plan). The work package will design and implement a survey targeted at micro and SMEs to determine their level of AI utilization, needs related to AI usage, and any potential problems. The survey will also explore how companies use AI applications, which applications are in use, and what plans they have for AI. If necessary, the survey data will be supplemented with interviews. The assessment will be conducted at the beginning, middle, and end of the project to identify measures that respond to the rapidly changing operating environment. Additionally, the effectiveness of the project's actions can be evaluated during the project. Based on the survey, a development plan will be created to promote AI utilization among micro and SMEs, initiating measures to ensure their competitiveness. These development actions will be planned for companies at various stages of AI adoption and will be implemented in work package 2. The assessment aims to identify companies producing AI applications in the region and encourage them to actively collaborate in work package 2 to grow regional expertise. The goal is to establish a collaboration network supporting AI utilization with the necessary skills and capabilities to leverage the AI revolution. WP2 - Planning and Implementation of Development Measures Development measures promoting AI utilization, such as workshops, information sessions, webinars, a test and experimentation environment (AI-Corner), club activities, and events, will be planned and initiated based on the results of WP1 with relevant content. Communication will mainly target micro and SMEs, with measures implemented so that anyone can register and participate. The goal is to have 200 companies participate in the development measures. The project will systematically collect feedback from target groups on the effectiveness of these measures to ensure continuous improvement. The work package will also design and launch the AI-Corner - a low-threshold test and experimentation environment and workshops that share knowledge and develop skills targeted at micro and SMEs. Additionally, it will support networking and the formation of new collaborations related to AI utilization. WP2 is divided into the following sub-packages: 1. Implementation of information sessions and workshops 2. Design and implementation of the AI-Corner test and experimentation environment 3. Networking measures and club activities The project activities will provide up-to-date information and AI opportunities for the regional business community. WP3 - Monitoring AI and AI Tools Development, Testing New Applications, and Related Work-Life-Oriented Publishing This work package will investigate the impact of new AI applications on digital and other business development opportunities and test them in practice.
