A grant is sought for the construction of the street connection of the industrial plot from Iisvedentie. The streets to be built are shown in the attached picture. The city of Suonenjoki will build a bioterminal area near Iisvedentie in 2024-2025. Pohjois-Savo liitto approved the terminal plot as a project to be financed from the "Justice transition" fund. In order to access the plot, a street connection leading to the plot from Iisvedentie must be built. The streets to be built are Karhukivenraitti (approx. 190 m/ 780 m) and Kivikatu approx. 220 m. The street plans are ready and approved, but the construction of the streets must be carried out at the same time or before the construction of the bio terminal site. By building street connections, it is ensured that a functional bio-terminal complex can be built in a logistically good location near the 9th road, which can be freely used by operators processing wood for energy production. The area is also suitable for use by small transport companies or wood suppliers. The street connection secures year-round use of the bioterminal site and supports the operations of mechanical and energy technology and forest industry companies, as well as the supply chains of wood procurement companies. Thus, the street connection also secures the removal of the bioterminal operation from the dirt-rich side roads, which improves the condition and safety of the side roads.
