The vision of Uusimaa region is to be a pioneer in carbon neutrality, economic competitiveness and welfare. One of the concrete objectives is to strengthen the role of Uusimaa region as a pioneer in circular economy competence and innovations. This is done with the help of co- creation and testbeds in which different actors develop together new business models, pilots and solutions. In the strategy of Uusimaa region circular economy is defined as one mean to pursue climate neutrality.Boosting the circular economy supports the realization of the EU:s Baltic Sea strategy. CEGO – Circular Economy Go -project enhances the Circular Transition of Uusimaa region SMEs and bigger companies across different industries. New CEGO - Circular Economy Go peer network will be launched in CEGO project which supports co-creation and innovation. The new value creation is based on the different competencies of the actors which supports the co-creation. The core of the CEGO -network consist of 20 companies supporting the CEGO project application. They are both SMEs and bigger companies with their subcontractor companies. CEGO project will be integrated into the existing networks Uusimaa Circular Valley, Laurea Circular Living Lab and Laurea key partnership network. The core group of 20 companies supporting the project application are among others IT equipment recycling companies, textile, maintenance and rental housing companies. In addition to the core group of 20 companies, one aims to acquire other companies from Uusimaa region. Thus the target number of participating companies is estimated to be in total 60 companies for the whole project. The objective of Circular Economy Go project is to boost the circular transition in Uusimaa region. The transition is made with small steps and pilots which can be scaled through learning. This will implement the best practices gained from earlier projects like Circular Economy Goes East and West and from participating in the operation of Uusimaa Circular Valley.
