The project “Enablers of Electrified and Intelligent Industry – SIX Power” (Oct 1, 2024 - Dec 31, 2027) is executed by Business Tampere. The project has two main focus areas: 1) Growth and sustainable competitiveness through electrification and 2) Custom chips for industry to ensure security of supply and resilience. In the first focus area, “growth and sustainable competitiveness through electrification,” the goal is to develop and strengthen the network of actors and value chains related to electrification in the Tampere region. Additionally, the aim is to expand cooperation networks and RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) and business opportunities in an international context. The project’s actions consider electrification throughout the entire lifecycle and value chain, identifying strengths, new opportunities, and bottlenecks in the region to be strengthened. Furthermore, the project aims to open and strengthen international networks related to the development of electrification. In the second focus area, the goal is to boost Tampere’s chip expertise and its utilization in industry both nationally and internationally, for example, in mobile machinery, defense, and energy industries. The aim is to promote the development and use of customized chips in the industry, gathering a group of companies to leverage the region’s expertise and increase the region’s visibility internationally as a hub for industry-relevant chip expertise. The expected outcomes include a significant increase in the competitiveness of the region’s electrification ecosystem and the industrial relevance and utilization rate of chip expertise. The ecosystems are better connected and networked internationally, new business and RDI opportunities have opened up for the region’s companies, and international visibility has improved. Cooperation is smooth, security of supply and competitiveness have significantly developed, and the Tampere region’s position in international markets has strengthened.
