Power from chips - sustainable competitiveness and attraction for Pirkanmaa from chip technologies The goal of the "Power from chips - sustainable competitiveness and attraction for Pirkanmaa from chip technologies" project is to take advantage of the huge opportunities brought by the EU Chip Acts and the general world situation for the growth of companies' business, making extensive use of chip technologies. The project contributes to creating competitiveness in the region and increases reliability of maintenance in critical technologies. Uncertainties in world politics have created concerns about Europe's position regarding various chips. The former industry powerhouse only manufactures a small number of chips globally. The chip shortage a couple of years ago hit the production of several Finnish companies very hard. For these reasons, the EU has set up a 43 billion EU Chips Act. Pirkanmaa region has a good starting point to repatriate a significant part of that money to RDI activities in the region. The project's activities promote the access of companies and research organizations to the projects and tools of the chip regulation, as well as the emergence of new cooperation and business opportunities. In this way, the project promotes companies' opportunities for growth and internationalization in the changed world situation.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
