The project promotes the implementation of the ecosystem agreement between the state and the City of Rovaniemi in 2025-2027. The ecosystem agreements between the state and cities strengthen the development of attractive clusters of excellence and innovation environments, as well as the integration of Finnish actors into international ICT networks and value chains. The agreements will develop innovation ecosystems, i.e. close cooperation networks, strengthen knowledge spines and increase the impact of research, development and innovation activities in a city-oriented way. The main task of the project is to coordinate and activate cooperation and joint projects between the City of Rovaniemi, local businesses and RDI actors in two priority areas: Arctic tourism and future well-being. The thematic priorities of the ecosystem agreement are based on the joint alignment of the priorities and key themes of the agreement between the City of Rovaniemi and RDI actors in the region, as well as on the review of the content of the ecosystem agreement carried out in spring 2024. In addition, the project promoter will prepare and implement the annual funding application for the ecosystem agreement together with the Lapland Regional Council. In the long term, the project will promote the creation of new business networks and innovation partnerships to support the vitality, growth and internationalisation of the region.
