ACT ONE – Arctic CreaTech Outreach, Networking, and Entrepreneurship is the first step towards the long-term goal of establishing the heart of an Arctic CreaTech ecosystem in Lapland. In this project, a CreaTech hub will be formed through collaboration between participating universities and regional businesses. This hub will work closely with local startup incubators and business advisory services. The primary mission of the hub is to promote and support the growth of CreaTech business in the region. CreaTech refers to business that combines creative content with new, innovative technologies. It is currently an emerging industry both domestically and globally. The research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities and education at higher education institutes in Lapland, which merge design, arts, and ICT engineering expertise, have long contributed to and generated CreaTech. However, these efforts have yet to manifest as new businesses in the region. Now, as the CreaTech field is rapidly growing and attracting investor interest, the timing is ideal to unite related stakeholders under one hub. This hub will effectively showcase Lapland's creative and technological expertise and companies, making it appealing to investors regionally, nationally, and internationally. The Arctic CreaTech Hub, established as part of this project, will continue as a permanent part of the implementing organizations' operations after the project concludes. Companies from established sectors in Lapland, such as tourism, can leverage CreaTech solutions to develop their businesses. By bringing companies together for collaboration, facilitating co-development, and assisting in various stages of business development, the hub can serve as a growth platform for new CreaTech companies and generate more contracts for existing CreaTech firms. Through the hub and its support, the local CreaTech community will reach out to international markets, customers, and investors. The project's main actions are as follows: 1. Establishing the Arctic CreaTech Hub and developing its operational plan. 2. Developing new publicly available CreaTech concepts and prototypes that inspire investment in CreaTech, based on the needs of companies. 3. Supporting the business development of CreaTech companies by facilitating regional, national, and international networking and collaboration, providing market research support, and offering startup incubation and advisory services. 4. Securing the hub's operations within the collaborative framework established during the project. 5. Project administration, reporting, and communication.
