The Pori Unit and the Finland Futures Research Centre of Turku School of Economics at University of Turku UTU, and Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UTU together launch "ENERGY! Green energy business for sustainable growth in Satakunta" -development project that will help SMEs in Satakunta to make sustainability useful and competitive. The project provides support from the diverse developer community and an open innovation environment for green energy ideas and early stage innovations. The project will provide companies with information on current green energy phenomena, peer and expert support from a multidisciplinary developer community, and an opportunity to get involved in green energy value and supply chains. The main outcome of the project will be a climate-resilient and green energy guide for companies and value chains, which can be used by companies, regardless of their sector, in their own or value chain/stakeholder cooperation, as appropriate. The guide will support the integration of companies into green energy supply and value chains and support the development goal of the region of Satakunta to become carbon negative and to build its economy and employment around green innovations in the log run (note. carbon neutrality by 2030). The guide is a compendium of the green energy situation in Satakunta, including concrete descriptions of creative ways of working for green energy business renewal. The guide includes -methodologies, tools and information for generating green energy business ideas and innovations incl. market shaping -practical approaches and tools for companies to co-develop green energy business in their value or supply chain -guidance and support as part of carbon neutrality targets and sustainability reporting and for consumers, communication to consumers, potential consumers and financiers -a set of methodologies tailored to SMEs to support their growth and integration into green energy value chains and their search for new markets and customers -interactive and activating tools for supply, value chain and stakeholder collaboration, including for use and exploitation by company management and planning New energy solutions will bring changes in areas such as technology, customer service, maintenance and servicing, privacy, recycling, etc. green energy offers business opportunities and markets across industries. Customers, consumers and local communities are part of the company's co-creation framework and ideation. Successful deployment of ideas and early stage innovations translates into new practices and knowledge in the daily lives of customers. The project concentrates on green energy ideas and early stage innovations, but contemporarily – when possible – supports SMEs that want to proceed further on, e.g. concept development. ENERGY! -project is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in different sectors. The project is suitable for companies looking for -new markets or planning new investments and/or export opportunities e.g. market shaping -new green energy products and services, production and service processes that cross industry boundaries, and - concepts -ways to think of green energy as part of and possibly expand their own economically productive business -green energy business partnerships and value chains to support the growth of their own business -different practical ways to link their own product or service to a wider green business -an economically productive role and function for their own business as part of an anticipated change in energy business The project is suitable for businesses, whose own industry is undergoing change and who are looking for new opportunities. New ideas and innovations can be related to operational efficiency (e.g. digitalisation, artificial intelligence), quality-enhancing value creation or radical innovations - including radical technologies – and the creation of cross-industry production processes and value chains. The project will provide a wide range of expertise and peer support for the development of SMEs´ own business. The project's co-creation webinars and innovative “sandboxes” will offer companies the opportunity to link up with new business networks and different green business value and supply chains in a way that provides new markets and growth opportunities.
