The HAAVE research and development project fosters the renewal of the energy system and regional economic transition in Central Ostrobothnia towards carbon-neutral gas economy. The project produces new know-how and innovative solutions with positive regional economic and environmental effects to replace the energy use of peat and other fossil fuels. The project enables generation of a development environment of gas economy and recycling of fertilizers supporting the region's significant agriculture and side streams producing industry. The project strengthens Central Ostrobothnia's role as a leading county in bio- and circular economy activities as a result of the growth of the energy sector know-how and related infrastructure.
