In Satakunta, the reduction in peat production will cause changes, especially in northern Satakunta. R&D activities and measures that renew, diversify and support the regional economy and business are needed to maintain vitality. Investment is needed in new innovations, business models, technologies and production process development, and in bringing them to enterprises and into practice. The main objective of the project is to support the Just Transition in northern Satakunta by (1) diversifying economic activities and (2) strengthening the adaptability of the workforce. The project has two long-term regional objectives: - To strengthen the future-oriented confidence of enterprises, workers and young people in northern Satakunta. - To secure the future labor supply for companies operating in northern Satakunta. The project consists of four main activities: 1. Turning Kirkkokallio into an eco-industrial park 2. Piloting equitable and green transition solutions 3. Digitalisation and modernisation of construction industry 4. A geo-learning environment to secure access to labor. After the project, northern Satakunta will have three strong clusters in the circular economy, green transition and technological solutions (Kirkkokallio, Construction Industry Group, Geo-learning Environment).
