Platform for growth – towards new directions and innovations project aims to renew and diversify local business structure. Reducing peat production and its’ impacts for a wide company network and also the rapid technological change concerning the whole society creates challenges but also possibilities for various industries such as peat industry, logistics, agriculture, bio and circular economy, metal, automation and food industry as well as tourism and welfare services. On the other hand, current changes require companies to develop their services in agile manner in order to stay profitable and competitive. The companies also need to be able to respond the changing needs and requirements of the environment and customers. The project strengthens future oriented, environmentally conscious and innovation-friendly culture and enhances innovation ability of the companies and creation of new inventions. The project aims to answer the inventors and companies challenges and strengthens companies capacity for growth by improving companies’ knowledge of the opportunities for responsible and sustainable business, producing foresight information, supporting the creation of new inventions with innovation competitions and creating digital aspects of the competition process. In addition, the project organizes events and workshops for companies that aim to grow, shares current information and know-how related to the production of inventions and innovations, creates and pilots new models for RDI activities between companies and universities as well as connects companies to networks and ecosystems. As concrete results, the project provides new tools, methods and models for cross-organisational research and development activities as well as new support mechanisms to support growth. The project produces foresight information and IPR material package to support companies’ strategic planning. The project also produces publications and organizes growth related events that are conceptualized during the project. Growth related workshops offer more information of responsible and sustainable business and help companies to find the next steps in the development of their products and business. The growth panel also supports ideation of new growth actions and collaboration. The project actions aim to add companies’ innovation activities that focus on the growth which is expected to produce new inventions and innovations, partnerships, business and jobs. The contribution of the project increases companies competence for environmentally conscious business which also promotes gaining EU’s climate targets and sustainable development. Strengthening environmental awareness foster the creation of new business and innovations in Satakunta. The foresight activities encourages companies to renew and consider future trends and new business models in strategic planning. This enhances the diversification, flexibility for changes and creation of new inventions in the business sector.
